So, here's what we've worked on to improve the audio output quality for the majority of our voices in the past few weeks.</em></p> <ul> <li><strong>.WAV Output Format</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>Now you can export your audio files in .WAV format as well.</strong> Exporting the audio in .WAV format significantly improves the audio quality. This is because this .WAV is an uncompressed audio format, unlike the .MP3 format which is a compressed audio format. Keep in mind that using the .WAV format to export your audio also increases the sheer size of the audio file. You can set/change your default audio output format from the settings tab in the Play.ht dashboard.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Higher Audio Sample Rate</strong></li> </ul> <p>The audio sample rate available up until now by default was 24 KHz. With this update, <strong>the audio sample rate can be toggled between three levels: 16 KHz, 24 KHz and 48 KHz.</strong> So, you'll be able to select the audio sample rate that suits your purpose. The Play.ht Wordpress plugin adds certain functionality to your admin that makes it easy to convert your posts, pages or courses into audio and embed that audio. Here are the steps for converting your first blog post to audio:

From your Posts page, select the post that you'd like to convert to audio and click on the 'Convert to audio' button.

You'll now see an editor with your post contents. You can add or remove text to reflect in the audio. You can change the voice, listen to sentences, fix any pronunciations in this editor before creating the final audio which consumes a credits. There the purpose of this editor is to help you edit and finalize the audio before creating it.

Once you are ready with the edits to audio, click the Convert button.

Create Audio

Type in the ${color}#108a5c, and your ${color}#108a5c on the ${color}[#108a5c](Play Editor).

Play Editor

Click on ${color}#108a5c, to change the voice from a list of ${color}[#108a5c](AI Voices), filtered by the language of your choosing.

Add Voice of your Choice

Finally, click on ${color}[#108a5c](Convert to Speech).

Convert to Speech

| You will be redirected to your ${color}#108a5c, where you can Download, Embed, Edit, and Share your Audio.

How to install the Play.ht Wordpress plugin on your blog

Installing the Play.ht Wordpress plugin is just like installing any other Wordpress plugin. Simply download the plugin (it gets downloaded as .zip file), go to your blog admin and upload it there. Here are the steps in detail:

Download the plugin from https://wordpress.org/plugins/play-ht/

Go to your blog admin and click on Add new button from the Plugins page

Choose the upload plugin option

Select the Play.ht plugin .zip file that was just downloaded and click the Install button

Once the plugin is installed, click on the Activate Plugin button

How to add audio to your Medium stories

Adding an audio version to your Medium story makes it accessible to a wider group of audience. People who have vision problems and people who prefer listening will find the audio extremely useful.

There are two ways of adding an audio version to your Medium story. Let's look at them one by one.

Adding audio to a Medium story from the Stories page

Under the Published tab from your Medium stories page you will find buttons for adding audio (as shown in the screenshot below)

Publishing a new Medium story with audio

When you are ready to publish a new Medium story, you can publish it with audio. When you click the Publish button you will see a new section that will help you publish the story with audio.

Simply select a voice you want for the audio and click the Publish now with audio button!
