How to use the code snippet to automatically add audio to your Squarespace blog posts

The code snippet allows you to automatically embed audio players in your blog posts when you convert them to audio.

The way it works is, it looks at the URL of the blog post to determine whether or not to display the audio players or no. Before you paste the code snippet, you can select and customize what players you need and how they should look like. Once you've pasted the snippet, all you need to do then is simply convert your blog posts to audio from the Play.ht dashboard (https://play.ht/app/)

Let's look at the steps in detail -

Go to https://play.ht/app/onboardingother

Select the type of player you want to have in your blog posts and customize it to match the look and feel of your blog.

Next, copy the code snippet.

Now head over to your Squarespace blog settings and look for the Page Header Code Injection in the Advanced options.

Now paste the code snippet. It doesn't matter if you paste it at the beginning or at the end but make sure you don't override any existing code snippets.

Save the setting.

All you need to do now is convert your blog posts to audio using the Article URL option. Let's see that. First, go back to the Play.ht dashboard at https://play.ht/app/

From the Audio Files section, click the 'Create New Audio' button and select the "From Article URL" option.

That should fetch your blog content so you can edit (if needed) and convert to audio.

Once you convert to audio, the audio player should appear in your blog post.

If only partial blog content gets fetched or the players don't show up in your blog posts, please reach out to us at support@play.ht and we'll help you out.
